The Institution of Fire Engineers (Hong Kong Branch) is a society incorporated under the laws of Hong Kong. We operate in Hong Kong and comply with all the laws and regulations of Hong Kong. All our activities and membership offerings are in compliance with all the requirements and specifications under the laws of Hong Kong. We are not in a position to guarantee compliance with specific local requirements or specifications under the local jurisdictions of customers.

Membership Subscription and Professional Examinations Terms

All membership subscriptions and professional examinations are subject to these terms.

These and other HKIFE(Hong Kong Branch) or www.hkife.org graphics, logos, service marks and trademarks of The Institution of Fire Engineers (Hong Kong Branch) may not be used without the prior written consent of The Institution of Fire Engineers (Hong Kong Branch). All other trademarks, product names, company names and logos appearing on www.hkife.org are the property of their respective owners. All content on our site, including design, text, graphics, logos, button icons, images, software and audio clips; any improvements or modifications to such content; any derivative works thereof; the collection, arrangement and assembly of all content appearing on www.hkife.org, are the exclusive property of www.hkife.org and are protected by Hong Kong and international copyright and other applicable intellectual property laws. All software used on our site is the property of www.hkife.org or its software suppliers and is protected by Hong Kong and international copyright and other applicable intellectual property laws.

Use of Site

This site may currently only be used for online communications between HKIFE and its members. You may not distribute or commercially exploit the site or any part of its content (whether by reproduction, retransmission, dissemination, sale, broadcast, circulation, republication, amendment, re-delivery using “framing” or similar technology or otherwise). Any use of the on-line communication features of this site may only be used for lawful purposes and you may not post or transmit any material which is objectionable (whether harmful, threatening or otherwise); www.hkife.org reserves the right (but without the obligation or liability) to prohibit or remove any such material.

Transaction currency

Unless other specified, all online transactions made through www.hkife.org are settled by Hong Kong Dollar (HKD).

Resale Purpose is Not Permitted

All membership and activities are for members’ use only and shall not be commercially resold. www.hkife.org may refuse any membership or enrolment of activities which it suspects is for commercial resale.

Payment Security

PayDollar is a leading, secure and reliable international payment service provider to banks and online merchants since 2000. Customers’ payment details are securely transmitted to the acquiring bank, card and payment companies for real-time transaction authorisation using 256-bit Extended Validation Certificates (EV) SSL transaction encryption. PayDollar supports CVV/CVC check as well as 3-D secure authentication of Visa and MasterCard namely: Verified By VISA, MasterCard SecureCode for added security protection for both customers and merchant.

Cancellation of Membership

The request for membership cancellation request should be sent to secretary@hkife.org.hk. The management committee of the HKIFE will confirm and record the membership cancellation during the earliest committee meeting. All unused subscription will be refunded to the individual member through the payment method he/she used.

Suspension of Membership

A reminder notice will be sent to a member when his/her subscription was 30 days past due. A final reminder notice will be sent to a member when his/her subscription was 45 days past due.

If the subscription which is due for payment was unpaid for 60 days, the membership will be temporarily suspended. During the membership suspension period, member is not entitled to enrol any HKIFE activities and other membership benefits.

Reinstatement of Membership

A member whose membership was suspended by reason of unpaid membership subscription, may submit a request to the management committee for reinstatement of membership. All unpaid membership subscription should be settled before submitting the request.

Termination of Membership

If the subscription which is due for payment was unpaid for 180 days, the management committee may consider the termination of the membership of a member during the committee meeting. Member with terminated membership shall submit a new membership application for reinstatement of membership.
